PGA TOUR Odds: Which 7 Prop Bets To Watch For ZOZO Championship

  • The betting odds for the PGA TOUR’s ZOZO Championship this week present tons of opportunity, like Justin Thomas getting -120 odds over Jon Rahm.
  • Tons of star power hit the course this week, like Tiger Woods facing Bubba Watson (-125) in a head to head matchup.
  • Other bets include top finishes for Collin Morikawa, Matthew Wolff, and Harris English.

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The PGA Tour heads to California this week with a field that is worthy of a major championship.

While the golfers won’t be in competition for such a large prize, there are still tons of FedEx Cup points, cash, and bragging rights on the line at the ZOZO Championship.

Featuring names like Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, and Rory McIlroy, this week’s tournament will easily match last week’s CJ Cup in terms of star power.

With so many top shooters on the course this week, the chance for a longshot winner is slimmer than usual. While the outright winner odds are always a great play for golf bettors, there is some tremendous value on prop bets for this tournament.

ZOZO Championship Head To Head Matchup:

  • Bubba Watson -125
  • Tiger Woods +130

Fading Tiger Woods is never a fun affair. Who doesn’t love cheering on the Big Cat as he continues his quest to be the best of all time?

Unfortunately, Woods plays rather rusty when he is coming off of a large break like he is this week. Nobody likes watching Tiger wince and gingerly walk the course but that has been the scene a number of times in recent memory.

With that in mind, Bubba Watson is worth the juice on this prop bet. Watson shot a combined 14-under par over his final three rounds at the CJ Cup and finished seventh.

ZOZO Championship Head To Head Matchup:

  • Viktor Hovland +120
  • Tyrrell Hatton +130
  • Satoshi Kodaira +375

Those who have kept up with the golf betting previews know that Viktor Hovland was a bit of a cash cow following the hiatus. The young Norwegian and Oklahoma State product is one of golf’s best young players and deserves to be put in the conversation with names like Morikawa, Wolff, and Berger.

Against Hatton and Kodaira, Hovland has a game that fits this course better. It will likely come down to Hovland’s putting, which is the only real knock on his game.

ZOZO Championship Head To Head Matchup:

  • Justin Thomas -120
  • Jon Rahm +100

The course at Sherwood Country Club benefits players that excel in their game out of the fairways. On a second shot course like this, Justin Thomas has the perfect game out of any of the top dogs.

Rahm is a world-class player, but doesn’t have quite the same consistency as JT in the middle of the course.

Top 5 Finish - Collin Morikawa +400

After winning the PGA Championship, Collin Morikawa showed the world that he is one of the best iron players currently on the planet. The course at Sherwood leans in the benefit of players that shine in their second shots from the tee.

Additionally, Morikawa won earlier this year at the Workday Charity Open from Muirfield Village, a course designed by Jack Nicklaus, who designed the course at Sherwood.

Top 10 Finish - Matthew Wolff +300

Matt Wolff has quickly established himself as one of the longest players on the Tour with a competitive edge that drives him to success. While Wolff’s evolution has been shadowed by that of Bryson DeChambeau, it is nearly as noteworthy.

Wolff has two second-place finishes in his last three tournaments and has the will to put himself in that top group once again. Additionally, he has great value at +300 via the major online sportsbooks.

Top 20 Finish- Harris English +120 Cameron Smith +200

For the longshots this week, there are two valuable candidates who are in great form heading into this event. For Harris English, he is currently on a run of finishing in the top 20 in eight of his last 11 tournaments. For Cam Smith, he soared to an 11th place finish at last week’s CJ Cup, and was one bad round away from being on the leaderboard.

Both players have strong iron games that should keep them in the top group this weekend.
