  • Scottie Scheffler opened with the shortest odds of any golfer to win the Scottish Open at +450.
  • Rory McIlroy won the event in 2023 and Robert MacIntyre won in 2024.

SCOTLAND – The 2025 Scottish Open started Thursday morning with a field of 156 golfers competing for the title. Here are how the golfers with the shortest odds to win the event, co-hosted by the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour.

2025 Scottish Open Odds

  • Scottie Scheffler +450
  • Rory McIlroy +1000
  • Tommy Fleetwood +2000
  • Robert MacIntyre +2200
  • Collin Morikawa +2500
  • Xander Schauffele +2500

Online sportsbooks gave Scottie Scheffler the best odds to win the Scottish Open, followed by Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood.

Scheffler has won three PGA Tour events this year, the most of any golfer, including his third career major at the PGA Championship. He has finished in the top ten 11 times so far this year and has been as consistent as they come.

Rory McIlroy is tied with Scheffler for the most wins on the PGA Tour this year with three, including his first ever win at the Masters to complete the career grand slam. McIlroy won the Scottish Open in 2023 and is a strong candidate to win again this year. He is firmly second behind Scheffler on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR).

Tommy Fleetwood sits at 13th in the OWGR but owns the third shortest odds to win the Scottish Open after finishing second at the Travelers Championship in late June. Fleetwood has yet to earn his first PGA Tour victory in his ten year career but looks to carry some momentum into this weekend.

Robert MacIntyre is the reigning Scottish Open champion, shooting -18 in last year’s event to capture the victory after shooting 14 under and finishing second in 2023. MacIntyre looks to become the first golfer to ever win the Scottish Open in consecutive years.

Collin Morikawa tied for fourth place in last year’s Scottish Open and looks to improve on that finish this year. Morikawa has yet to win an event this year, but sits at #5 on the OWGR and has finished in the top ten 4 times in 2025. He could be due for a big win.

Xander Schauffele rounds out the top six with +2500 odds. He is currently third on the OWGR and has also yet to win an event this year, though he has dealt with a rib injury which may have affected his performance to this point.

Golf sportsbooks stick with Scheffler and McIlroy at the top of the list, but there are plenty of golfers who could pull out a win this weekend. MacIntyre won last year but does not have history on his side. At time of writing (through 18) he's -2, tied for 25th.

The best play for bettors is to roll with Rory McIlroy at +1600. He looks to become the third golfer to ever earn multiple Scottish Open titles, currently sitting EVEN through 7 holes.
