- Scottie Scheffler holds the shortest odds to win The Open Championship this weekend at +600.
- Reigning champion Xander Schauffele is tied for the fifth best odds to win again at +2500.
IRELAND – The Open Championship heads to the Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland this weekend as one of the 156 golfers in the field look to etch their name into history. Here are the six golfers with the shortest odds to win the event.
2025 Open Championship Odds
- Scottie Scheffler +600
- Rory McIlroy +800
- Jon Rahm +1200
- Bryson DeChambeau +2200
- Ludvig Aberg +2500
- Xander Schauffele +2500
Online sportsbooks give Scottie Scheffler the best shot of winning the tournament at +600 odds with Rory McIlroy right behind him at +800.
Still sitting atop the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), Scheffler has won three events this year and has finished inside the top ten in his last ten appearances. Though there is no such thing as a sure fire pick in golf, Scheffler is about as close as you can get.
Rory McIlroy finished tied for second at his most recent appearance, the Scottish Open. McIlroy has also won three events this year, tied with Scheffler for the most of any golfer on the PGA Tour. McIlroy won the Open Championship in 2014 when it was played at Royal Liverpool.
John Rahm has been one of the most consistent performers at The Open Championship in his time on the PGA Tour, finishing third in 2021, second in 2023, and seventh at last year’s tournament. He’s competed in just three events this year (The Masters, PGA Championship, US Open) but has yet to finish lower than 14th place and has two top ten finishes.

Bryson DeChambeau has had limited success in his career at The Open Championship, finishing top ten just once in his seven appearances while missing the cut three times. He has had success in his three tournament appearances this season (same three as Rahm) finishing fifth at The Masters and second at the PGA Championship, but missed the cut at his most recent outing at the US Open.
Ludvig Aberg won The Genesis Invitational earlier in the year and tied for eighth at the Scottish Open this past weekend but has been mediocre otherwise, finishing top 25 just seven times in sixteen appearances this year. He made his debut at The Open Championship last year and did not make the cut.
Xander Schauffele is the reigning champion of the tournament and finds himself with +2500 odds to pull off a repeat performance. He has also finished second at the tournament back in 2018, so he is no stranger to success at the Open Championship. He tied with Aberg for eighth at the Scottish Open last weekend and looks to join a select group of golfers to win the Open in consecutive years.
Given each of these golfers’ 2025 performance, as well as their history at this tournament, Jon Rahm stands out as the best bet. At +1200 odds and a strong 2025 campaign, paired with multiple top five finishes at the Open, bettors can confidently bet on a strong performance from Rahm at golf sportsbooks.
