COLUMBUS, Ohio – Fans of the Big 10 and college football at large can rest easy now that the conference has officially announced they will be playing football this fall.

The college football playoff race was shaping up to be a complete mess without the Big 10 and PAC 12 conferences involved. The year would have certainly been marred with more complaints of legitimacy without some of the nation’s premier programs.

Luckily, that is all in the past now as conference officials announced that the Big 10 will be playing football this fall.

Each team will play a modified 9-game schedule, consisting of eight conference opponents followed by the first-ever “Champions Week."

The Champions Week will end the season on Dec. 19 and feature matchups between divisions of each school that finished with the same standings in the opposite conference.

This means that the No. 1 team from the B10 West will face the No. 1 team of the B10 East, while the No. 2 West team faces the No. 2 East team, and so on.

This unique format has garnered attention from sports bettors and bookies alike. Win totals for every Big Ten team are now available on the major online sportsbooks.

Big 10 East Win Totals

Ohio State Buckeyes – Win Total

  • Over 8.5 -120
  • Under 8.5 -110

To the surprise of no one, Ohio State enters the season as the leader in total wins, with books suggesting that the Buckeyes will go undefeated by giving negative money on over 8.5 wins.

Ohio State enjoyed an undefeated regular season in 2019, defeating Wisconsin for the Big Ten Championship before losing to Clemson in a close game in the College Football Playoff semifinals.

The Bucks welcome back Heisman candidate Justin Fields and find themselves currently ranked No. 6 in the AP Poll despite not playing a game.

Penn State Nittany Lions – Win Total

  • Over 7 +105
  • Under 7 -135

Penn State comes into 2020 with one of the highest win totals in the division after a decent season in 2019 that saw them end the year with three losses.

The Nittany Lions were undefeated going into Week 7 with key wins over Maryland and Iowa before falling to Michigan at home. Penn State went on to lose to Minnesota and Ohio State before defeating Memphis in the Cotton Bowl.

Penn State will look at returning QB Sean Clifford to lead the offense after throwing for 2,654 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2019.

Michigan Wolverines – Win Total

  • Over 5.5 -125
  • Under 5.5 -105

In a more shocking development, the Wolverines of Michigan come onto the college football sportsbooks with a meager 5.5-win total for 2020.

Jim Harbaugh has been a consensus disappointment so far in his time in Ann Arbor, and it looks like the bookies expect another let down in 2020.

Michigan suffered three regular-season losses in 2019 and could do the same this year to get to six wins. However, another poor season for the Wolverines could seriously begin to heat up Harbaugh’s seat.

Big 10 West Win Totals

Wisconsin – Win Total

  • Over 7.5 +110
  • Under 7.5 -145

Leading the Western division of the B10 in 2020 is the Wisconsin Badgers, who are set at 7.5 wins allowing for two conference losses on the season.

The Badgers started off the season with six strong wins before an upset at the hands of Illinois stunted the celebration. They followed that up with a loss to Ohio State the following week. Wisconsin would finish the season undefeated, only to meet the Buckeyes again in the Championship game, resulting in a loss.

The Badgers have more hope this year as they return a considerable amount of talent from the defense that finished fourth in the country in 2019.

Minnesota Golden Gophers- 2020 Total Wins

  • Over 6 -115
  • Under 6 -115

The Golden Gophers come in with strong implications for the 2020 season after a breakout campaign in 2019. Minnesota was rowing the boat hard under coach PJ Fleck and managed a two-loss season last year that ended in a strong win over Auburn in the Outback Bowl.

The Gophers will need to build upon the improvements they made last year, but seeing them get to six wins seems entirely possible.

Iowa Hawkeyes – Win Total

  • Over 4.5 -180
  • Under 4.5 +135

Iowa put together a very Iowa-Esque season in 2019, ending with three losses but ruining the seasons of Minnesota and USC in their bowl game. The Hawkeyes line this year is set at 4.5 games, which seems rather low. This is represented by the high juice currently attached to the over.

While Iowa is always capable of the upset win, they will need to really beat teams bad at the beginning of the season to build hype in the AP Poll.

Nebraska Cornhuskers – Win Total

  • Over 3.5 -130
  • Under 3.5 EVEN

Oh, Nebraska. How far the mighty have fallen that the Cornhuskers now sit at a 3.5-win total for the season.

Coach Scott Frost has his work cut out for him to repair and reload a team that suffered seven losses in 2019.
