Creating A 5-Man Optimal Lineup For Week 5 TNF

  • Allen Robinson costs $11,500 on daily fantasy football sites.
  • Ronald Jones is priced at $10,500.
  • Tom Brady costs $15,000 on fantasy football sites.

CHICAGO – As Week 5 of the NFL season is set to get underway, Thursday Night Football will feature a matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Chicago Bears from Soldier Field in Chicago.

With NFL action kicking off for the week, daily fantasy football GM’s can begin creating their fantasy football lineups.

Since this is a five-man fantasy football lineup, the top slot on the roster is considered the MVP slot in which the player selected there earns 1.5 times the points that the other players would earn.

That being said, this lineup is just a suggestion and should be switched around to the fantasy owner's liking.

MVP – Allen Robinson, WR, 11,500
AnyFlex – Tom Brady, QB, $15,000
AnyFlex – Mike Evans, WR, $12,000
AnyFlex – David Montgomery, RB, $11,000
AnyFlex – Ronald Jones, RB, $10,500

Starting at the top with the MVP slot, Allen Robinson makes the perfect candidate here as he has been a force in the Bears previous two outings.

He has caught over 100 receiving yards in his last two games which includes a 13 target, 10 reception, 123 yards and one touchdown game against the Falcons and a 10 target, seven reception, 101 yards and one touchdown game over the Indianapolis Colts.

His two consecutive double-digit target games comes after Nick Foles took over as the starting quarterback. It is clear that Robinson is Foles’ favorite receiver and it will look to stay that way on Thursday Night Football.

The second roster spot is filled out by none other than Tom Brady. Brady seems to have gotten in a nice rhythm as he is really connecting with everyone on the field.

In his last two games, he has shown what he can do as he went for 297 yards and three touchdowns in Week 3 and 369 yards and five touchdowns in Week 4. Brady is clearly the top-rated quarterback on online betting sites and should be taken seriously no matter who is catching passes from him.

The third spot is taken by Mike Evans being that he actually does suit up to play as he has a questionable tag on him.

If Evans is on the field tonight, he will be treated as the go-to option as his running mate, Chris Godwin, was already declared as out. Evans played without Godwin in Week 4 and played absolutely great as he went for eight targets, seven receptions, 122 yards and a touchdown which was good for 21.7 fantasy points.

It is also worth noting that Evans is one of Tom Brady’s favorite endzone targets as he has caught at least one touchdown in every game thus far and is tied for leading the NFL in touchdowns with five.

The fourth Flex spot is taken by David Montgomery who is poised for a big game in Week 5. Montgomery has had an average season thus far but now he will get his chance to prove that he is a premier running back in the league as the Bears backup running back, Tarik Cohen, suffered a torn ACL earlier in the season.

With Cohen now out, Montgomery is sure to get a boost in his rush attempts and there is no better place for him to have a breakout game than on Thursday Night Football when the whole country is watching.

The final Flex position is filled out by Ronald Jones. Jones is in a similar position as Montgomery as The Buccaneers backup, Leonard Fournette, is dealing with injuries as well and is listed as doubtful for Week 5’s matchup in Chicago.

With Fournette out, Jones should be treated as a near every-down back. Fournette missed Week 4 as well and Jones saw a huge boost in rushing attempts as he went for 20 attempts and 111 yards. He also offers a great pass-catching ability as well which is sure to be put to use in Week 5 as there are currently offensive starters listed as out or questionable.
