Daily Sports Betting Preview 06/13/2021: Lightning Game 1, Hendrick Motorsports, Nuggets Prop Bets

  • The Tampa Bay Lightning are -200 betting odds favorites in Game 1 at home versus the NY Islanders.
  • Hendrick Motorsports leads the All-Star NASCAR racing odds, with Kyle Larson (+350) ahead of the pack.
  • Devin Booker scoring 30 points or more gives NBA prop betting fans easy longshots over +200 odds.

TAMPA, Fla. – With sporting events happening every day, the sportsbooks never sleep. On Sunday, the daily sports betting preview turns its focus to the NHL playoffs, NASCAR All-Star Race, and NBA playoffs.

The Lightning begin their series at home against the New York Islanders and are -200 favorites to win Game 1.

Interestingly, the Tampa Bay Lightning have a trend to begin their playoff series. In both the Florida Panthers series as well as the Carolina Hurricanes series, the Lightning won Games 1 and 2 on the road, lost Game 3 at home in overtime, and won Game 4 at home.

As the Lightning won’t be on the road for Game 1, the trends turn to the New York Islanders. Down in both their series against the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Boston Bruins early, the Islanders completed the series with a three-game win streak.

The game’s total is set at 5.5 goals, but heavy action is being laid on the under. With -145 odds looking to push it down to 5, don’t be surprised to see Jordan Eberle knock in a goal. With eight already in the NHL playoffs, Eberle had five goals against Boston yet the odds for an Eberle goal are +275 – third on the team.

The puck drops at 3:08 p.m. ET.

Betting Hendrick Motorsports In NASCAR

Kyle Larson is the NASCAR All Star Race favorite (+350) but Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr., and Chase Elliott all have NASCAR All Star Race Odds below +1000.

The race begins at 8:05 p.m. ET on Sunday and it is truly anyone’s to win. However, NASCAR betting fans can find a better situation when betting a top three finish.

Top 3 Odds: Nascar All Star Race

  • Kyle Larson +100
  • Kyle Busch +180
  • Martin Truex Jr. +190
  • Chase Elliott +200
  • Denny Hamlin +250
  • Kevin Harvick +275
  • Ryan Blaney +275
  • Joey Logano +325
  • William Byron +325

Odds ranging from EVEN to +325, some of the best NASCAR races of 2021 are listed to finish top three.

Chase Elliott at +200 as well as William Byron at +325 could be strong picks.

Elliott won the race last time and his teammate in William Byron could be tailing him. Keep in mind that the favorite Kyle Larson is also their teammate at Hendrick Motorsports, so it will come down to how the team plays it out.

NBA Betting Props – Nuggets Vs. Suns

While betting on the NBA game spread, moneyline, or total is perfectly fine, finding some prop bets is another betting style to explore.

With the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns Game 4, all eyes turn to the Nuggets and Suns’ guard Devin Booker.

  • Nuggets Over 20.5 Points Every Quarter (-180)
  • Devin Booker With 30+ Points And 3+ 3PM (+250)
  • Devin Booker + Michael Porter Jr 56+ Combined Points (+250)
  • Denver Nuggets To Win All 4 Quarters (+1500)

Denver was second in the league this season in first quarter points (30.9) and some signs point to them coming out swinging, as they are down 0-3.

However, that could fade away, as the near 31 points scored in the first quarter is met with 28.6 points (9th) in the second, 27.3 points (20th) in the third, and 26.8 points (20th) in the fourth.

Declining throughout the game, the Nuggets still average well above 21 points a quarter, making the first NBA prop a safer yet costly bet. Those looking for more of a longshot could find odds for the Nuggets to win all four quarters – though this is a real longshot in a series down three games.

Adding Devin Booker prop bets into the mix offers a strong payout of +250 for two prop bets.

The first requires Booker to hit 30 points with three 3PM.  The 3PM could be the challenge, as Booker has only done this three times in his nine playoff games this year, and in 5 of his last 31 regular-season games.

Still, Booker has been shooting 39.6% in the playoffs from deep on six attempts per game. With the 30-point game, he has done this four times these playoffs, but none of those games came against the Nuggets.

Booker would also need some help from Micharl Porter Jr. in the second prop bet. Looking for a combined 56 points, Porter would need to have a game not seen since playing Portland.

Playing less than 30 minutes a game twice this series, Porter Jr. has seen at least three 3PM per game while shooting about two a quarter. If both shooters can find their rhythm, this prop should fall easily away from the online sportsbooks.

Tip off is at 8:05 p.m. ET as the Suns are -3.5 on the road against Denver.
