  • Cincinnati are 6-0, and have -3500 odds to go to 7-0 against ECU.
  • Patrick Reed and Tony Finau have +160 odds to win their three ball matchup with each other and Paul Casey.
  • Denzel Bentley is a -175 favorite over Mark Heffron to win the British Middleweight title.

LAS VEGAS - Today’s edition of the Daily Sports Betting Preview starts out in the NCAA as Cincinnati takes on East Carolina University.

Then, as The Masters continues, Patrick Reed, Paul Casey, and Tony Finau face off in three ball action.

Finally, in the world of boxing, Denzel Bentley faces off against Mark Heffron. There’s a lot to cover, so let’s get started!

NCAA Football Betting

Cincinnati is sitting with a 6-0 record, and are ranked 7th in the AP Poll right now, giving them an outside shot at the CFP.

Incredible as it may seem, a Friday college football game might actually have some playoff implications as they face off against ECU.

Given Cincinnati’s quality, the gap between these two teams in terms of betting odds is extremely pronounced.

Cincinnati vs. ECU

  • Cincinnati -3500
  • ECU +1175

Cincinnati sits at -3500 odds to win the game, prohibitively short odds that encourage Cincy bettors to look to the spread.

ECU’s odds are +1175, which doesn’t seem rewarding enough for a game that they will likely lose.

Cincinnati vs. ECU

  • Cincinnati -27.5 (-110)
  • ECU +27.5 (-110)

The spread on this matchup is Cincinnati -27.5, with both sides of the spread having -110 odds. 27.5 seems to be where this spread will stay - although it opened at Cincinnati -26.

Cincinnati’s excellent season has taken even the sportsbooks by surprise - they are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games.

It remains to be seen whether or not this spread is enough to properly account for a top 10 ranked Cincinnati, or whether the sportsbooks are still underrating them.

CFB bettors will get the chance to find out tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST.

The Masters Betting

The Masters continues today, and one of the best ways to wager on it is by taking a look at the three ball odds on the online sportsbooks.

There’s one group that is particularly interesting in terms of three ball odds - Tony Finau, Patrick Reed, and Paul Casey.

Finau/Reed/Casey Three Ball

  • Tony Finau +160
  • Patrick Reed +160
  • Paul Casey +210

There is no outright favorite in this group - Finau and Reed are the leaders, but they both sit at +160 odds.

It makes sense for Finau and Reed to be favorites here, as they are both highly ranked and well regarded golfers.

Reed shot a -4 in the first round, while Finau shot a -3, which keeps them both in contention as far as the Masters goes.

Casey brings up the rear at +210 odds. He shot a -7 in the first round, which is good for first place on the leaderboard right now.

However, the sportsbooks are down on Casey in this three ball matchup, and more generally.

While Reed sits at +2800 to win The Masters and Finau clocks in at +3300, BetOnline’s sportsbook doesn’t even have futures odds on Casey as of Friday morning.

The books seem convinced that Casey’s round one performance was a flash in the pan and that the more established Reed and Finau are favored over him in round two.

Golf bettors will have to wait and see what happens, but betting on talent and experience over one good round might not be a bad idea.

Boxing Betting

Denzel Bentley and Mark Heffron are set to face off in what should be a fairly even matchup for the vacant British Middleweight title.

The weigh-ins have been completed and the fighters look ready to go.

Heffron enters this matchup with a record of 25-1-1, with 19 KO’s. Bentley, meanwhile, has had a shorter career, with a record of 13-0-1 and 11 KO’s.

This is the second matchup between the two talented fighters - that 1 on the end of both of their records is from the last time they matched up.

They fought to a 95-95 draw in a bout both of them think they deserved to win. Now, they’ll each have a chance to prove it - and the sportsbooks are giving this one fairly even odds as far as boxing goes.

Denzel Bentley vs. Mark Heffron

  • Denzel Bentley -175
  • Mark Heffron +145

Bentley, the young phenom, is slated to be the favorite with -175 odds to win this matchup for the British Middleweight title.

Heffron, meanwhile, is a respectable +145 underdog. Heffron has already taken one loss (against Liam Williams) fighting for the British Middleweight title, and a defeat here would add a second black mark to his record.

This fight looks to be a good one, and boxing bettors have until 4:00 p.m. to get their bets in on the online sportsbooks.
