Daily Sports Betting Preview 12/5/2020: Chelsea vs. Leeds, OSP vs. Hill

  • Ohio State is favored by -22.5 points over Michigan State in a must-win game.
  • Chelsea are -205 favorites over Leeds United on the three-way moneyline.
  • Jamahal Hill has -185 odds to defeat Ovince Saint Preux and claim a ranked spot in the LHW division.

LAS VEGAS - Welcome to this Saturday edition of the Daily Sports Betting Preview, where three excellent betting opportunities are discussed.

First, in the Premier League, Chelsea faces off against Leeds United. Later on, one of the main card fights for today’s UFC Fight Night features Ovince Saint Preux taking on Jamahal Hill.

There’s a lot to cover, so let’s get started.

Premier League Betting

In a topsy-turvy Premier League season, Chelsea is set to face off against Leeds United on this fine Saturday.

Chelsea are third place in the Premier League right now, with a record of five wins, four draws and one loss. They haven’t exactly been untouchable, but only taking one loss is a great accomplishment for them.

Leeds United, in twelfth place, have nearly as many wins as Chelsea. Their record is four wins, two draws and four losses.

The matchup is fairly lopsided on the moneyline.

Leeds United vs. Chelsea Moneyline Odds

  • Chelsea -205
  • Leeds United +500
  • Draw +380

Chelsea are significant favorites on the three-way moneyline at -205, but that’s nothing compared to the no draw moneyline.

Leeds United vs. Chelsea No Draw Odds

  • Chelsea -575
  • Leeds United +360

A draw was a fairly likely option on the three way moneyline, with +380 odds making it more likely than a Leeds victory.

When that possibility is removed, the line swings heavily towards Chelsea, giving them -575 odds to win the matchup.

This matchup kicks off at 3:00 p.m. EST, and soccer bettors would be well advised to pay attention - it could be a great one.

UFC Betting

The UFC is bringing a Fight Night card on Saturday night, and one of the more interesting fights on the card pits Ovince Saint Preux (OSP) against Jamahal Hill.

This matchup is a Light-Heavyweight bout that sees a young up-and-comer in Hill face off against a vet in OSP. Saint Preux has fought in 39 professional MMA matches, winning 25 of them, while Hill has a record of 2-0-0 in the UFC.

Hill came up through Dana White’s Contender Series and won his match there as well as a match against Darko Stosic back in January.

His most recent fight was a No Contest against Klidson Abreu. To be clear, he won the fight, but the result was later overturned as he tested positive for Marijuana.

Hill is not happy about this, calling the decision “dumb as hell” when asked about it.

This matchup is yet another of those matchups that happen fairly often in the UFC as an up-and-comer is put against a veteran gatekeeper.

OSP is filling the role of the gatekeeper, and might be a very solid underdog wager in this matchup.

OSP vs. Jamahal Hill Odds To Win

  • OSP +150
  • Hill -185

However, it is worth noting that OSP missed weight for the first time in his career going into this fight.

Hill is looking for a win here to catapult himself into the ranked portion of the UFC’s LHW division, but these are tough matchups to win.

He’s never fought anyone on OSP’s level, and despite OSP’s age, he will have a decided experience edge. This looks to be a genuine test for Hill, and one wonders if he’s been a bit overrated by the sportsbooks.

MMA bettors will have to come to their own conclusions about that.

Happy betting!
