LAS VEGAS - Welcome to the Daily Sports Betting Preview on this fine Monday!

Today’s edition of the Preview kicks off with a look at the matchup between the Washington Wizards and the Atlanta Hawks.

Then, the Tampa Bay Lightning take on the Florida Panthers.

Finally, the San Diego Padres face off against the Colorado Rockies.

There’s a lot to cover, so let’s get started!

NBA Betting

The Washington Wizards and the Atlanta Hawks are set to face off in a matchup that could determine seeding for the NBA Play In Tournament.

The Wizards are currently the holders of the 9th seed, while the Hawks are the fifth seed in the East.

The Wizards are half a game up on the 10th seeded Indiana Pacers, and three games up on the 11th seeded Chicago Bulls.

The matchup for this game seems to favor the Hawks pretty heavily, however.

Washington Wizards vs. Atlanta Hawks Moneyline

  • Washington Wizards +265
  • Atlanta Hawks -330

So, why is this matchup so overwhelmingly bad for the Wizards? Well, they’ve been something of a two man band this season, with Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook doing a lot of the heavy lifting for the team.

Beal, of course, is out for this matchup after straining his left hamstring.

His absence will be felt for sure in this matchup, as the Wizards are serious underdogs.

Washington Wizards vs. Atlanta Hawks Spread

  • Washington Wizards +7.5 (-110)
  • Atlanta Hawks -7.5 (-110)

The spread has settled in at Hawks -7.5, which seems about on target for a matchup like this.

The Hawks have a 20-11 record against the spread at home, but the Wizards are 20-13-1 against the spread on the road.

Both teams could reasonably cover this spread, and NBA betting fans could be in for a treat with this matchup.

This game will air at 7:30 p.m. EST, and will be live on NBA League Pass.

NHL Betting

The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers are currently the third and second seeds in the Central Division.

The Lightning are the reigning Stanley Cup Champions, and they haven’t exactly fallen off this season, but the Panthers and the Carolina Hurricanes have been fantastic.

In so doing, they’ve given some added importance to this matchup between the Lightning and the Panthers as both teams prepare for an inevitable playoff meeting.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Florida Panthers Moneyline

  • Tampa Bay Lightning +110
  • Florida Panthers -130

The Lightning are underdogs in this matchup, but some of that seems to be down to the fact that they are the road team, while the Panthers are playing at home.

However, the matchup opened with the odds being a bit more even - the Panthers were around -105, as opposed to their current odds of -130.

This implies that there was some significant action that caused the lines to shift - from bettors that believed in the Panthers.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Florida Panthers Puck Line

  • Tampa Bay Lightning +1.5 (-250)
  • Florida Panthers -1.5 (+210)

The puck line sees the Lightning +1.5 as significant favorites, which makes perfect sense.

After all, spotting the reigning champions of the league 1.5 goals should make them favored over just about anyone.

NHL betting fans can catch this matchup at 7:08 p.m. EST, and it will be broadcast on BSUN.

MLB Betting

The San Diego Padres entered the 2021 MLB season as one of the teams expected to make a deep run in the playoffs.

They had added to an already loaded roster, picking up Yu Darvish to bolster their pitching, and signing Fernando Tatis to a monstrous contract extension.

The Colorado Rockies had basically the opposite offseason - they shipped off star 3B Nolan Arenado for nothing, settled fully into mediocrity, and entered the season as one of the worst teams in baseball.

The gap between these two teams is not as pronounced as one might have expected before the season, owing mostly to the Padres’ struggles, but it’s still significant.

San Diego Padres vs. Colorado Rockies Moneyline

  • San Diego Padres -180
  • Colorado Rockies +155

The moneyline swings heavily in favor of the Padres, who are playing on the road in hitter-friendly Coors Field.

The Padres have some big bats available to benefit from the friendly nature of Coors, and are expected to win this game easily.

San Diego Padres vs. Colorado Rockies Run Line

  • San Diego Padres -1.5 (-120)
  • Colorado Rockies +1.5 (+100)

Even the run line isn’t enough to make the Rockies favored, with Rockies +1.5 having even odds at the online sportsbooks.

MLB betting fans can catch this game at 8:40 p.m. EST on MLB Extra Innings.

Good luck!
