Daily Sports Betting Preview 6/12/2020: La Liga, Timo Werner Props, Charles Schwab Challenge

  • Getafe is +149 favorites over Granada in their battle for fourth place in La Liga today.
  • Timo Werner is on the way to Chelsea, but still joins RB Leipzig for their match against
  • Hoffenheim and has great odds for his performance today.
  • The PGA is back with the second round of the Charles Schwab Challenge, and there are some great trios betting opportunities.

FORT WORTH, Texas - Welcome to today’s edition of the Daily Sports Betting Preview! As always, the Preview covers three sporting events and their accompanying betting opportunities.

Today’s preview starts out with La Liga, the Spanish top-flight soccer league, as top teams collide in Spain.

Then, keeping with the theme of soccer, the Preview takes a look at the Bundesliga, the top-flight German soccer league, as one of the best players in the league, Timo Werner, looks set to leave it.

Finally, the Preview wraps up with a look at the field and the betting odds for the return of the PGA at the Charles Schwab Challenge.

There’s a lot to cover, so let’s get started!

La Liga Betting

Today’s La Liga betting comes in the form of two games. The first game is Granada vs. Getafe, and the second game features Valencia taking on Levante.

Granada is the ninth-ranked team in the league, while Getafe claims the fifth spot on the La Liga table.

Getafe is fighting for a top-four spot, and such a spot would qualify them for the Champions League next season.

They are tied on points with fourth-place Real Sociedad, and a victory or draw today could push them ahead of Sociedad for the time being.

At most major online sportsbooks, Getafe are favored in the match, but not incredibly so. The odds for this match are quite interesting, and a draw is a heavily likely outcome as well.

Right now, Getafe has +149 odds, while Granada has +245 odds, and a draw has +187 odds.

These are relatively unique odds - a draw normally doesn’t take up so much real estate, so to speak.

Today’s second La Liga game features Valencia taking on Levante. Valencia is seventh in the league, while Levante is 13th.

The odds for this match are a bit more normal looking, with Valencia having -130 odds, while Levante has +370 odds and a draw clocks in with +285 odds.

These are both excellent games and should be great betting opportunities as well for soccer bettors all over the globe.

Timo Werner Bundesliga Betting

The Daily Sports Betting Preview’s coverage of soccer today is not over, however. The Bundesliga, one of the first major leagues to return amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, also has a great game today.

Soccer bettors are getting a double dose of top-flight action as Hoffenheim take on RB Leipzig in a Bundesliga battle.

RB Leipzig is counting down the days until star striker Timo Werner leaves, with the transfer to Chelsea apparently being a done deal.

In an interview with Goal, Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann was pessimistic about the team’s ability to replace such a star talent:

"It's not possible [to replace him], you can't clone a player. If Timo Werner leaves us, the main thing would be to replace 34 goals a season”, said Nagelsmann.

Nagelsmann went on to opine that the issue “perhaps could not be solved by just one player. It is important that we get the same output at the end of the day, that is the complex thing about the topic."

In tribute to Werner’s time with the club, the Preview today is going to look at some Timo Werner based betting odds.

In this game vs. Hoffenheim, Werner is -200 to score at least one goal, which is an accomplishment in itself.

When that number is changed to two goals, Werner boasts +200 odds, which, when considering his talent, don’t even seem that long.

Werner’s Over/Under line for shots seems to be set at 5, with 5 shots having +102 odds.

Werner is also technically still in the running for top scorer in the Bundesliga, although he is six Bundesliga goals behind current leader Robert Lewandowski.

Werner has +1000 odds to become the top scorer in the Bundesliga this season, while Lewandowski has -2000 odds, and “any other player” has +10000 odds.

These odds should go a long way towards demonstrating Werner’s value to Leipzig, as well as demonstrating the depth of available odds on any given soccer game.

Charles Schwab Challenge Betting

The PGA is back with the Charles Schwab Challenge, and the odds for today’s second round are already up on the board at many major online sportsbooks.

Betting odds for the second round are focused on trios of competitors competing at the same time. Bettors can place wagers on who will come out victorious in each trio.

Let’s take a look at some of the options.

DeChambeau / Johnson / Rose

  • Bryson DeChambeau +130
  • Justin Rose +185
  • Dustin Johnson +215

Bryson DeChambeau looks like the favorite in this group, with +130 odds to take the victory from Justin Rose and Dustin Johnson.

Hovland / Garnett / Dufner

  • Viktor Hovland +115
  • Jason Dufner +190
  • Brice Garnett +240

Viktor Hovland approaches even odds with his +115 chances to take the victory in this group. Jason Dufner is far behind with +190 odds, and Brice Garnett brings up the rear with +240 odds.

Na / Woodland / Mickelson

  • Gary Woodland -115
  • Kevin Na +225
  • Phil Mickelson +275

Gary Woodland is heavily favored in this trio pairing, with -115 odds making him the odds on favorite over Kevin Na and Phil Mickelson.

Wolff / Conners / Oosthuizen

  • Corey Conners +145
  • Louis Oosthuizen +185
  • Matthew Wolff +195

Today’s final pairing to be covered in the Preview is the most competitive according to the odds. Corey Connors leads with +145, but Louis Oosthuizen and Matthew Wolff are right behind him with +185 and +195 odds respectively.

When it comes to betting on golf, a lot of golf bettors are just happy that the PGA tour is back, and when there are pairings like these on the board, it’s hard to blame them.

Happy Betting!
