Illinois And DraftKings

Sports bettors in the Prairie State can add another Illinois sportsbook to wager at with the launch of the DraftKings at Casino Queen Sportsbook.

The main drive for the merger between Casino Queen and DraftKings was so that the sportsbook can launch its mobile app in Illinois without having to wait.

Once Illinois regulated online sports betting, a clause was implemented that would not allow outside sportsbooks to launch within the first 18 months of a retail location opening. This was made so that in state-local sportsbooks would have a head start on the competition.

Now that DraftKings is a local sportsbook thanks to the merger, they are able to provide their mobile betting app to all Illinois sports bettors.
