Hard To Bet Against Hamlin

Heading into this race, Denny Hamlin has a wide lead in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings despite not yet winning a race this season.

While he has yet to enter victory lane, Hamlin and his #11 Chevrolet have notched an unprecedented eight top-five finishes in nine races.

That includes five stage wins, which give Hamlin 434 points on the season. The driver in second place is Martin Truex Jr. with 353 points.

As Denny looks to break through and get his first win, there are few tracks betting suiting his style than Talladega. Hamlin is the most recent winner at this track, and owns five superspeedway wins over his career.

Value Contenders

The nature of superspeedway racing is unpredictable. With cars going three and even four-wide throughout the track, anything can happen at any moment.

The “big one” can occur rapidly, knocking top racers out of the competition and changing fortunes in the blink of an eye.

Those looking to bet on NASCAR should note that five winners have come from odds of +3300 or higher. This includes last week’s winner Alex Bowman.

With that in mind, bettors should look at superspeedway aficionados like Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Aric Almirola.

Stenhouse Jr. just has a way about him on the fast tracks. He was the 2017 winner at Talladega, owns five additional top-five finishes at the track, and regularly impresses at Daytona in a similar layout. In races where he didn’t wreck, Stenhouse Jr. has notched six straight top-ten finishes at Talladega.

For Almirola, he won at Talladega in 2018 and has finished in the top ten in eight of his last nine starts at the track. Almirola simply has a way about him on these tracks and can maneuver with the best in NASCAR at top speeds.
