HAMILTON, N.Y. — With the Patriot League regular season coming to an end, Colgate is looking to run away as the conference champions as they are leading the odds list. Boston University and American University have short odds as well.

Lafayette is looking to make noise in the tournament as they have the ability to pull off an upset and they have the tools to do so.

Colgate

As college basketball bettors may remember, Colgate is continuing their hot streak from the 2019 season where they made it to the NCAA tournament They currently lead the odds to win the Patriot League tournament at 4/9 odds. They had a strong year as they went 14-4 in the conference and 23-8 on the season.

If they want to continue to make a push towards March Madness, they need a few things to come together. Their bench play has been below average as they only average 16.2 points per game. Their starters, however, carry the bulk of the scoring for the team as a whole and have scored 80 or more points in 14 games.

Boston University/American University

Boston University also had a decent season after a disappointing 2019 campaign where they went 15-18. The Terriers finished the season 12-6 in the conference and 18-13 overall. They are a high scoring team that has scored 70 or more points in 19 games.

They finished their season strong going 8-3 in their last 11 games. The emergence of Max Mahone helped this team a lot as he led the team in points (15.6), rebounds (8.2), steals (1.1) and blocks (0.6).

Although, they do have poor free-throw shooting. As a team, they only shoot 65.7% from the line. If they could continue their hot streak to end the season, they could have the potential of winning the conference tournament. Boston’s odds sit at 4/1 to win the Patriot League Tournament.

Lafayette
