Colorado On Track To Launch Sports Betting Friday

  • Sports betting is set to launch with sports betting apps due to COVID-19 not allowing retail sportsbooks.
  • Four online sportsbooks will launch immediately on May 1st while the rest will open throughout 2020.

DENVER — Despite the coronavirus shutting down most major sports across the globe, Colorado sports betting is set to launch on Friday. For now, only sports betting apps will launch until retail sportsbooks are allowed to open.

Sports bettors in Colorado will not launch all at once, as the online operators will be slow to offer their products. As some are prepared to begin offering betting lines, others are expected to finalize their platform in time for the NFL season.

There is a total of 17 different online sportsbooks in Colorado that are set to launch in 2020.

  • Barstool Sportsbook
  • BetAmerica
  • Betfred
  • BetMGM
  • BetRivers
  • Betwildwood
  • Circa Sports Colorado
  • Digital Gaming Corporation
  • DraftKings
  • FanDuel
  • FOX Bet
  • PointsBet
  • SBK
  • theScore Bet
  • SuperBook
  • William Hill Sportsbook
  • WSI US

Of these 17 online sportsbooks, four of them are set to launch immediately on May 1st.

DraftKings and FanDuel, which are both known for daily fantasy, will waste no time in expanding to Colorado.

They used to only offer free to play games as no money was allowed to be bet within the state lines. Now, bettors will be able to enjoy the full experience of DraftKings and FanDuel.

BetRivers and BetMGM are the other two online sportsbooks that are expected to launch on Friday

Betwildwood, Fox Bet, and SBK are expected to follow shortly after as they are expected to launch later on in May.

That gives sports bettors seven options to choose from in the first month of legal Colorado sports betting.

Barstool Sportsbook has announced that they will launch their sportsbooks sometime in the third quarter of 2020. The remaining sportsbooks on the list have not yet mentioned when they will officially launch in the Centennial State.

Regardless, Colorado sports bettors will not have to wait long to begin placing legal bets as action is set to begin at the end of the week.
