  • Belgium has -1800 odds to defeat Belarus in a World Cup Qualifier matchup.
  • The Denver Nuggets are -190 favorites over the Philadelphia 76ers.
  • The Boston Red Sox are slight favorites over the Atlanta Braves.

LAS VEGAS - Welcome to the Daily Sports Betting Preview on this fine Tuesday! First up on the Preview, World Cup Qualifiers continue as Belgium takes on Belarus.

Then, in the NBA, the Denver Nuggets battle the Philadelphia 76ers. Finally, MLB Spring Training features a matchup between the Atlanta Braves and the Boston Red Sox.

There’s a lot to cover, so let’s get started!

Soccer Betting

The World Cup Qualifiers are a good way for soccer betting enthusiasts to familiarize themselves with the likely participants in the World Cup.

Belgium has long been a team considered “on the rise” and will look to build off of their successes at the 2018 World Cup. A matchup against Belarus in the World Cup Qualifiers on Tuesday presents them with a chance for an easy victory.

Belgium is regarded as one of the elite teams of Europe, especially in comparison with Belarus, and the odds reflect this discrepancy.

Belgium vs. Belarus Three Way Moneyline

  • Belgium -1800
  • Belarus +3300
  • Draw +1000

Even on the three way moneyline, Belgium is favored to a prohibitive degree, with -1800 odds to win the matchup outright.

Belarus’ +3300 odds to win the matchup may seem enticing, but they’re exceedingly unlikely to cash in on those odds.

Belgium vs. Belarus No Draw Moneyline

  • Belgium -6600
  • Belarus +1800

Belgium vs. Belarus Spread

  • Belgium -2.5 (+100)
  • Belarus +2.5 (-120)

The spread favors Belgium by 2.5 goals, which is astonishing given that the O/U line for total goals scored in the game sits at 3.0 goals.

In other words, the sportsbooks seem to believe that Belgium is potentially going to be the only team scoring in this matchup at all.

Soccer betting fans could have expected that this matchup was lopsided, but still might be surprised at the degree to which it is.

NBA Betting

The Denver Nuggets are looking to make a run for the top of the Western Conference with new acquisition Aaron Gordon.

The Nuggets are 28-18, seven games back of the Utah Jazz, but within striking distance of the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns. The Nuggets are faced with the Philadelphia 76ers – a dangerous team that gets far less dangerous when they play on the road - which they are on Tuesday.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Denver Nuggets Moneyline

  • Philadelphia 76ers +165
  • Denver Nuggets -190

The Sixers sit atop the Eastern Conference with a record of 32-14, and it’s worth noting that much of that record was attained at home, where they’re 19-4 straight up.

The Sixers are a much more manageable 13-10 on the road, and their lack of road performance contributes to why the moneyline is set where it is.

The biggest factor in why the Sixers are not favored in this matchup, however, is the absence of Joel Embiid.

Embiid is still listed as Out for this game, and he is the heart of the Sixers on both offense and defense.

An injured team, playing on the road, without their best player. Not exactly a recipe for success.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Denver Nuggets Spread

  • Philadelphia 76ers +5.0 (-115)
  • Denver Nuggets -5.0 (-105)

On the spread, the Nuggets are favored by five points, and it’s worth noting that the Sixers’ woes when playing away do extend to the spread.

They’re 10-11-2 against the spread on the road, which is contrasted with an overall ATS record of 26-18-2.

Fading the Sixers against the spread when they’re playing on the road seems plausible, but it’s worth noting that they aren’t necessarily going negative, they’re just less positive than when they’re playing at home.

Perhaps the true lesson for NBA betting enthusiasts is to simply stay away from the Sixers when they’re on the road, and wager on them when they’re at home.

MLB Betting

Spring Training carries on as the 2021 MLB season gets closer, and bettors are watching multiple teams with avid interest.

The Atlanta Braves are one of those teams - although they’ve been eclipsed in the odds to win the NL by the San Diego Padres. On Tuesday, the Braves face off against the Boston Red Sox, a team projected to be a bottom-dweller in the AL East.

The two teams played on Monday, and the Red Sox cruised to a 4-0 victory, which they’re likely to do again today, according to the online sportsbooks.

Boston Red Sox vs. Atlanta Braves Moneyline

  • Atlanta Braves +105
  • Boston Red Sox -125

The matchup seems relatively even between these two teams in the wake of Boston’s win on Monday.

However, it is slightly slanted towards Boston and away from Atlanta, a confusing sight in the context of Atlanta being a team coming off of a playoff appearance, and Boston being one coming off of being one of the worst teams in the league.

Still, MLB betting enthusiasts will know that Spring Training is unpredictable, and as the two teams work out roster kinks, anything could happen in this game.

Good luck!
