BEDMINSTER, N.J. – Dustin Johnson is a heavy favorite to win the LIV golf event at the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster.

LIV Golf Tour Bedminster

  • Dustin Johnson +700

The top of the sportsbook odds boards for the LIV Tour event is littered with former PGA members, with DJ taking the top spot, and big names like Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka not far behind.

There are still three spots left open in the field, with speculation running wild on who the players that take those spots will be.

Odds For Who Will Be The Next LIV Tour Member

  • Cameron Smith -10000
  • Adam Scott -3300
  • Hideki Matsuyama -2000
  • Xander Schauffele +200
  • Danny Willett +200

The betting odds above were released by PaddyPower, a British bookmaker, and it’s notable that the three men at the top of it are all hugely negative, with three spots left open in the field.

Cameron Smith especially is heavily tipped to join the LIV tour, after the British Open Champion demurred when asked about his chances of doing so.

“I just won the British Open, and you’re asking about that?” Smith said when asked about joining LIV. “I think that’s pretty, not that good.”

“I don’t know, mate. My team around me worries about all that stuff. I’m here to win golf tournaments.”

It’s very possible that those three golfers could be filling out the field at Bedminster when the tournament kicks off next Wednesday.

Donald Trump Weighs In

Former President Donald Trump, the owner of Bedminster, weighed in on the dispute between the PGA and LIV.

“All of those golfers that remain ‘loyal’ to the very disloyal PGA, in all of its different forms, will pay a big price when the inevitable MERGER with LIV comes, and you get nothing but a big ‘thank you’ from PGA officials who are making millions of dollars a year,” Trump wrote. “If you don’t take the money now, you will get nothing after the merger takes place, and only say how smart the original signees were.”

The former President certainly seems to be in favor of golfers like Smith, Scott and Matsuyama jumping ship, due to his predicted merger.
