UFC Fight Night: Gane vs Volkov – Main Card Odds

  • Ciryl Gane is a -170 betting favorite against Alexander Volkov in the main event.
  • Tanner Boser has -165 odds over Ovince Saint Preux in the co-main.
  • Raoni Barcelos (-225), Andre Fili (-230), Tim Means (-130) and Renato Moicano (-250) are all favored in their fights.

LAS VEGAS – The UFC main event on Saturday could very well see the winner be next in line for a heavyweight title fight. With a full card of solid fights, there are plenty of betting opportunities and value across the board.

Main Event: Ciryl Gane vs Alexander Volkov

Ciryl Gane (8-0) and Alexander Volkov (33-8) will meet in the main event of this weekend’s UFC card.

The winner could potentially be in line to have a shot at the heavyweight champion.

Gane is undefeated in his career with wins over Tanner Boser, Junior dos Santos and Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Volkov is on a bit of a run himself as he has back-to-back wins over Walt Harris and Alistair Overeem. Online sportsbooks have Gane as a slight favorite in the fight.

Gane vs Volkov Moneyline Odds

  • Ciryl Gane -170
  • Alexander Volkov +140

Gane has fought, and succeeded, against fighters with Volkov’s style, but as a kickboxer who likes to work at range, he could potentially struggle with Volkov’s size and length. However, due to Gane’s dominance in his last fight against Rozenstruik, it’s tough to bet against him in this spot.

Co-Main Event: Tanner Boser vs Ovince Saint Preux

Tanner Boser holds a 19-8 record but has lost two straight fights against Andrei Arlovski and Ilir Latifi. Ovince Saint Preux, at 38-years-old, is 25-12 with a 1-1 record at heavyweight.

Neither fighter has looked too good recently, which could cause UFC betting fans to go with the underdog.

Boser vs Saint Preux Moneyline Odds

  • Tanner Boser -165
  • Ovince Saint Preux +135

OSP has a clear wrestling/grappling advantage in this fight and would likely play a big part in his chances to win. It might come down to whether he’s strong enough to take down Boser and keep him on the mat for enough time to make something happen.

Raoni Barcelos vs Timur Valiev

Raoni Barcelos is a perfect 5-0 in the UFC and will put his undefeated record on the line against Timur Valiev who has a win and a no-contest in his UFC career.

Barcelos is -225 on the moneyline but it could be argued that he deserves to be an even bigger favorite. He’s a decorated wrestler and jiu-jitsu artist who holds a 16-1 professional record.

Timur Valiev doesn’t have nearly the credentials as Barcelos, but was able to pick up a decision win over Martin Day in his last appearance in the octagon. Simply put, this shouldn’t be that competitive of a fight and Barcelos has value despite his long odds, especially as a potential parlay piece.

Andre Fili vs Daniel Pineda

Andre Fili will be looking to get back in the win column following his loss to “Thug Nasty” Bryce Mitchell while Daniel Pineda will be making his third walk to the octagon in the UFC having beat Herbert Burns and having lost to Cub Swanson. Fili is a sizable favorite in the fight.

Fili vs Pineda Moneyline Odds

  • Andre Fili -230
  • Daniel Pineda +185

Despite Pineda being a formidable submission threat (18 of 27 professional wins by sub), it’s tough to see Fili losing this fight considering the level of talent he’s gone up against. His losses in the UFC have come to guys like Max Holloway, Yair Rodriguez, Calvin Kattar, Michael Johnson, Sodiq Yusuff and Bryce Mitchell, all fighters who are considered near the top of their divisions.

Plus, if Bryce Mitchell couldn’t submit Fili, Pineda shouldn’t be able to either.

Tim Means vs Nicolas Dalby

The second fight of the main card could bring some underdog value in Nicolas Dalby over Tim Means. Dalby has had seven straight fights without a loss while Means has split his last 10 fights. It’s never a perfect trend, but Means has lost to Daniel Rodriguez and Alex Oliveira both of which Dalby has beaten in his last three fights.

Means vs Dalby Moneyline Odds

  • Tim Means -130
  • Nicolas Dalby +110

Dalby has also never been finished while Means has finished 24 of his 31 victories. Bettors could take advantage of sports betting sites listing Dalby as the underdog in this spot.

Renato Moicano vs Jai Herbert

Renato Moicano has fought guys like Brian Ortega, Jose Aldo and The Korean Zombie, the only problem is he lost all of those fights. He does have wins over Jeremy Stephens, Calvin Kattar and Cub Swanson though. This would be a good spot to fade Moicano, but he’s fighting Jai Herbert.

Herbert has just one fight in the UFC and was knocked out by Francisco Trinaldo. He doesn’t have a notable win or even the reps against top-level talent to earn the faith of the betting public. Moicano is well-deserving of his short odds.

Moicano vs Herbert Moneyline Odds

  • Renato Moicano -250
  • Jai Herbert +200

Moicano will likely get through with a win, but keep his name in mind for the next time he appears on a UFC card.
