Why Legitimacy of Super Bowl Streaker Bet Is Doubtful

  • There were +750 odds of there being a streaker at Super Bowl 55.
  • The Super Bowl streaker reportedly netted over $300k for there being a streaker.

TAMPA, Fla. — With Super Bowl 55 now in the rear-view mirror, there were plenty of bets that some bettors would like to forget and some that helped bettors cash out. One unusual Super Bowl prop that cashed out for bettors was if a streaker was going to run on the field.

Online sportsbooks previously had a fun Super Bowl prop bet on if there was going to be a streaker during the game which had +750 odds of it actually happening.

One bettor, Yuri Andrade, has become somewhat of a hero to those bettors that laid action on these odds as he took matters into his own hands and did the honor of streaking on the field.

Andrade, reportedly took one for the team here as he claims to placed $50,000 on those +750 Super Bowl odds of there being a streaker at the Super Bowl and cashed out a whopping $375,000.

Granted he had to end up paying a $1,000 fine for trespassing at the game, but the fact that he was reportedly able to play the system like this is a story in its own.

However, there are some doubts here in regards to Andrade’s story that just do not seem to add up. He claims to have placed the bet on Bovada, but, Bovada does have restrictions in place when it comes to Super Bowl prop bets that are outside of the game.

The main restriction that they have when betting on bets that are outside of the game is usually a $250 max bet which was clearly exceeded according to his story. The reason for Bovada having these restrictions is because this is considered a pre-determined and controlled outcome which it was in this case.

Most, if not all state-regulated online sportsbooks don’t offer odds for such an event at all because people can cheat the system.

Something else that backs up the claim of this being a false bet is that Andrade has yet to show any betting slips or screenshots showing that this bet was made.

With no proof and bet limit restrictions in place, Andrade’s claims have no legs to stand on.
