Michael Carter Props Show No Match To Last Week’s Breakout

  • Michael Carter has -115 odds on both sides of his 46.5 rushing yards total.
  • He has -105 odds to have UNDER 4.5 receptions.
  • Carter has a rushing attempts total of 12.0 with -115 betting odds on both sides.

INDIANAPOLISMichael Carter has improved over each of the last two weeks, however, sportsbooks suggest he will regress to the mean in Week 9 on Thursday Night Football.

Michael Carter was on a four-week streak of having less than 40 rushing yards but broke out for a 77-yard performance in Week 8.

Michael Carter Rushing Yards Total

  • OVER 46.5 -115
  • UNDER 46.5 -115

Carter has hit this mark in two of his seven games, but the apparent increase in usage gives him hope to hit the set total. Carter is rushing between the tackles on 47.9% of his carries this season and is averaging just 2.85 yards per carry when doing so.

This doesn’t bode well for Carter as the Colts allow an average of 2.95 yards per carry between the tackles.

Michael Carter Receptions: O/U 4.5

Carter’s biggest threat over the last two weeks has been in the receiving game. He’s totaled 17 catches in the last two games after combining for just nine catches in the first five weeks.

Those betting on the NFL can find his total at nearly half of what he’s tallied in each of the last two weeks.

Michael Carter Receptions Total

  • OVER 4.5 -125
  • UNDER 4.5 -105

Carter failed to reach this number in any of his first five games but has done so easily in each of his last two. His most targets in a game before the last two weeks was only 3, showing that sportsbooks believe that his last two games are more of an outlier than a true change in the game plan.

Michael Carter Rushing Attempts: O/U 12.0

Carter’s 15 carries in Week 8 was a career-high as he only had more than 11 carries in just one of his previous games. His total for Thursday Night Football is set at 12 rushes.

Michael Carter Rushing Attempts Total

  • OVER 12.0 -115
  • UNDER 12.0 -115

The game script isn’t too favorable for any of the Jets’ running backs as New York is labeled as a 10.5-point underdog. With the team trying to play catchup and Mike White coming off of his 400+ yard performance, Carter may not get many carries out of the backfield.

It’s a number he’s failed to reach in five of his seven games and that could increase to six out of eight after Thursday’s game. The game will start at 8:20 p.m. EST and can be seen on either FOX or the NFL Network.
